Ali Martin Scoufield (she/her) is a scholar-practitioner with twenty years of experience working and leading in higher education. Ali believes in the importance of blending research with practical application and demonstrates this as a Doctoral Teaching Fellow and Research Assistant at Cleveland State University (CSU). Ali is also the Program Manager for the Center for Refugee and Immigrant Success. In these roles, Ali can center the lived experiences of individuals and promote environments committed to equity, access, and belonging. 

Ali served as the Associate Vice President for Advocacy, Health, & Wellness and Dean of Students at CSU until January 2024. Prior to CSU, Ali worked as a Title IX Investigator and Equity Specialist at Case Western Reserve University, also in Cleveland. Before moving to Ohio, Ali was the Director of Residence Life at La Salle University in Philadelphia and the Assistant Director for Residence Life & Assessment at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Through these various roles, Ali has showcased how she prioritizes people through relationship building, demonstrating care, and promoting trust.  By prioritizing people, Ali has proven success in various functional areas, including assessment, basic needs access, community standards, disability services, equity, gender centers, leadership, residence life and housing, Title IX, and volunteer programs.

Ali holds a BA in History from Western New England University, a MS in College Student Personnel from Miami University, and a MLS in Human Rights and Social Justice from Southern Methodist University. She is completing her PhD in Urban Education Policy at CSU this year, focusing on inclusion and access for disabled students.

Ali is an avid reader and bookstagramer (@spongebooksquarepants), traveler, and passionate about community service. She is a long-term volunteer supporting food access, hospice care, and the Girl Scouts.
