Panelist Bio - Dr. Amy Golden

Dr. Amy Golden currently serves as Assistant Dean of Students and Executive Director for TRIO Programs at Arizona State University.

Dr. Golden has worked in Student Affairs at the three largest public institutions across the country over the last twenty years (The University of Texas at Austin, The Ohio State University) before returning to her alma mater, Arizona State University in 2006.  Amy has extensive experience in student development, advocating for students and translating theory into practice as an Adjunct Faculty in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College.  Previous Student Affairs Practitioner roles include: University Housing, Residential Life, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Programming, Off-Campus Student Services, Student Activities, and Student Conduct. 

As the Assistant Dean of Students and Executive Director for TRIO Programs she provides oversight and vision to the nine (and growing) TRIO Programs across the ASU campuses, advancing the one-university model for a seamless student experience for First-Generation, low-income and students with disabilities through to graduation.

Her research centers around First-Generation college students, Latina persistence, the Sophomore Year experience and impact mentoring.
