Commuter Students: Create a Welcoming Community to Help Ensure Engagement, Success and Persistence to Graduation – April 6, 2021
|
Date & Time |
Tuesday, April 6, 2021 • 2:00 – 3:30 pm ET |
Overview |
Home. It is a heavily loaded word, with a myriad of personal associations. For commuter students, they aren’t likely to refer to your campus as “home”, unless they feel connected and important.
How do you create a home at your institution through services, networks, support and programming for students who do not reside on campus?
How do you create a sense of community for remote learners who won’t even step foot on campus?
Join us on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 and our expert presenter will explore how you can help commuter students create a holistic and vibrant college experience while balancing off-campus responsibilities. You’ll be able to articulate the value of on- and off-campus partnerships in an effort to reach and support your commuter student body. You’ll learn all about effective collaborations, so you don’t have to reinvent the wheel.
Whether you are serving commuter students who live at home with their families or students who choose to live in off-campus housing, you’ll be able to tap into proven programmatic initiatives for academic success, key engagement strategies and risk management considerations to help your commuter students feel satisfied with their experience and persist to graduation.
