Re-board Residence Life Student Staff: Prepare and Facilitate a Successful Transition Back to On-Campus Living – April 14, 2021

Date & Time
Wednesday, April 14, 2021 • 2:00 – 3:30 pm ET
Overview
Given the unprecedented upheaval, transitions and alternative means for providing and seeking support that students have navigated the past year, there is no doubt that your student staff will be looking for greater guidance as they prepare to return to campus for Fall 2021 — with the hope that campuses will have a much greater sense of normalcy than they currently do.

After over a year of COVID protocols and parameters, student life staff members will need to be very intentional with their training and on-boarding to recalibrate RAs and other residence life student staff members as they return to campus and housing in leadership roles.

Join our seasoned presenter and your colleagues on April 14, 2021 to get the tools you need to “re-board” your RA staff and refocus their roles. Help them overcome uncertainty and build on excitement as you prepare and facilitate your training efforts so you can ensure a successful transition back to on campus living.

You’ll be able to re-focus your hiring and training process to transition from chronic emergency response mode to post-pandemic mode, empower your professional staff to work with student staff to build on what they have learned from the pandemic for a post COVID world, and to re-envision your residence life student staff training experience.

Registration: $399*

*You can have your team participate remotely for this price. After you place your order, you will receive instructions for additional log ins for your remote team members. In addition, 24 hours following the live webinar we will email you instructions for accessing the on-demand recording, which you may share with any staff members that were unable to attend the live event. Feel free to email us with any questions at info@paper-clip.com.

Topics Covered
As a result of your participation, you will be able to:
  • Implement training techniques that will help new and returning RAs move past COVID protocols and procedures — maintain safety as needed and prepare your student staff to create community in meaningful ways.
  • Build student staff confidence to provide support, school affinity and excitement for fall 2021 — arm your student staff with the tools they need, regardless of whether or not they have ever had the chance to live on campus, to provide leadership and support to students living in the residence halls.
  • Share what you have learned from the pandemic and apply it for a post COVID world — debrief lessons learned so necessary adjustments can be made and fall 2021 can be approached with a new frame of mind.
  • Train your staff on the important issues that will be brought to the forefront as students return to campus — prepare your student staff to recognize and refer students who need support, as well as to recognize when they need support themselves.
  • Create meaningful policies and procedures that help to build strong living and learning environments — redefine community for student staff in a post-COVID world.
