Undocumented Students: Evaluate Your Programs to Support Retention, Degree Attainment & Post-College Success – On-Demand Training
|
Overview |
Evaluate Your Programs to Support Retention, Degree Attainment & Post-College Success
There are research and data that support the argument that there are more undocumented students than ever before in college due to the enactment of tuition equity laws, DACA and Dream Resource Centers. Today, states across the U.S. offer tuition equity bills, financial aid packages and dedicated programs to support the retention, degree attainment and post-college success of undocumented students.
You’ll hear from two expert presenters: Valeria Simmons Garcia — Program Director of the Undocumented Student Program at UCLA — and Daniel Alfaro — Program Manager for Undocumented Student Services at University of California, San Diego, both also co-founders of AG Monarch Consulting, a consulting firm that specializes in training and consulting for K-12 schools and institutions of higher learning that seek to build programs and services for undocumented students and their families. You’ll gain insight on how, despite increasing support, undocumented students continue to face unique challenges that require ongoing advocacy efforts and policy changes to ensure their success.
The headlines regarding immigration laws continue to dominate the news cycle, leaving many confused and fearful. You’ll gain an update on the current legal landscape and proven best practices to support undocumented students, so you can base your decisions on facts, evaluate your current efforts and advocate for educational equity.
