Every year, the Case Western Reserve University (OH) community celebrates a day of remembrance called Light the Campus. Students, faculty and staff can submit names of someone who has recently passed away to be read during a February ceremony. Trees are lit as part of the ceremony and then battery-powered candles are distributed for campus community members to display in their offices, rooms or homes.

The program is part of the University Health and Counseling Services’ Wellness efforts. The live event is held outside with a nearby rain location. Student volunteers help make the event run.
